The Thing about School

I'm going to be switching schools this year and I'm kind of nervous freaking out about it as it finally set in that I won't be going to the same high school that I did last year (besides for Band). I'm kind of plunging into this new experience on my own. I mean, I know people that go there but whenever I've switched schools (excluding moving out of state in grade school) I've always had friends that were going with me but I'm making this transition completely and totally by myself. It would be absolutely AMAZING for a certain somebody *hint hint* to put in an application. I'm very excited that I get to be with some of my favorite people this year though. I guess I'm excited because of the independence that this school's supposed to give me in the sense that I can work at my own pace and don't even have to be in class but it's always nice to have people who are making the transitions along with you. Oh well. I don't even want to be very involved in social aspects of school. Fun Fact: My absolute least favorite thing about school in all of my ten years of it is when I have to play in pep-band during sports for a band grade. It's like I'm being forced to be social and waste a couple hours of my time to play for a team that hasn't won any games all season. I think that pep-band and cheerleaders should be privileges for the players. If they don't give the school anything to be peppy about they shouldn't have people being peppy for them. Quite frankly I always think that cheering for the other team would be more productive than distracting ours. Especially this year when I'll be playing for a school that I don't even attend other than band, and only then because the new one doesn't technically have one. I'm determined to get my letter for band this year because I'm not so sure (practically positive) that I want to do something else and don't want to waste six years on it without taking something from it. I love playing, just not necessarily in band class... Aaaahhhh!!! I'm going to be an upperclassman (that's all one word according to spell-check) year!!! Two more years and then college or something. I think that I would love to spend the rest of my life as a starving artist. I've spent a lot of time being depressing through this post so now a list of happy things:
1: Bakersfield, CA.
2: Coffee shops (particularly Green Plow).
3: Doing homework with friends in said coffee shops.
4: Fall (Summer wins by default for getting me out of school but Fall's a runner up).
5: Rain (as in the wet kind that falls from the sky).
6: Not falling wet from the sky and splattering all over the place while kids jump in my leftover remains.
7: Teapots.
8: Tea (If you ever forget that it's my birthday and find it necessary to buy me a gift then I'll except tea without question).
9: Hats!
10: Being genuinely excited for the first time about starting school!

First let me start by saying you will do great. I will be praying for you and I really believe God has opened up this for you for a reason. Next, what instrument do you play? I played the clarinet, my husband the Tuba, my daughter the clarinet and one daughter the sax. Our youngest plays violin and piano. I guess you can tell we love music. We also sing. When I get savvy enough to upload a song I will. Maybe you can teach me. I am now following your cousins blog. How do you do a vlog? Anyways I need to comment on some of your other post so I will save my comments for them:)

Well, firstly thanks for the encouragement for the new school year, secondly I also play the clarinet (and to a much lesser extent piano)! I like to sing too but mostly just in the shower and during theater and such. Did I say that it was my cousin? It's not, just a friend. Haha... Well, you can do a vlog a couple different ways. She did hers with a video camera and then she just downloaded it onto the computer and uploaded it to her blog via the video button next to the font styles, sizes, etc. You can also just do it via (love that word) webcam which I think would be easier but probably not give you as much room for editing and stuff. That's as much help as I can give because I'm not what you'd call "tech savvy." Good luck with yours!
